THE Chair...

I know you have all been dying to see pics of my Goodwill Chair!:) I have been talking about it for a few weeks now and it was in 1 of my nephew's pics, but it was black & white. So the chair had its own session today:) I took these pics with my point and shoot camera and they are not edited, but you'll get an idea of what THE chair looks like!:) If you don't already know the story, Michael & I (& most of our family) have been looking for an antique upholstered chair (at a reasonable price) and I finally found one a few weeks ago at the Goodwill Store, thanks to my SIL Meredith for telling me about it!! This chair is in GREAT condition, no holes, just a few scratches on the arms and legs. I know everyone is going to love THE chair as much as I do, and I know everyone is going to be requesting to have THE chair at their sessions:) So without further adieu THE chair!!!:)

Ok so I may be a little biased, but my nephew Aidan is right up there with the BEST babies! He didn't cry at all for his 4 month pics! Now his brother on the other hand would rather be playing with Addison & Ava than having his picture made! So we were lucky to get a few (maybe 2) good family pics! Also you may notice THE CHAIR made it's debute! I know this pic is in b&w so it's hard to really appreciate it :), but I'll have plenty more pics with the chair to post soon! We are starting to get busy again and hopefully the weather will decide to cooperate with us too! I hope my sis (and everyone else) enjoys these sneaks as much as I did! We just wanted to take this time to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and to say a BIG THANK YOU! Our x-mas card suffered greatly this year, due to the fact we were working on everyone elses:) But we did manage to get one out about 2 days ago!! We literally took this pic one morning before church. It wasn't easy and this was the best one with got w/ both of the girls looking at the camera. Addison wants to hold Ava and Ava does NOT want to be held anymore, so I don't know how we got this one! Anyways, don't forget Dec. is almost over and that means time is running out on our Dec. That is how Michael described Eli after our session with him! I work with Eli's dad and he warned me beforehand that they have never gotten a professional picture of Eli smiling. So that was our only goal, get 1 pic of him smiling and we did!! We actually got 3 or 4 of him smiling. Eli is so sweet and so cute, but he just doesn't like to smile for professional pics. I hope his mom and dad are happy with these sneak peeks!

Our 1st Wedding...

Well not OUR 1st wedding, but our 1st wedding to photograph!:) Sarah called me in Sept. and asked me if we could photograph her and Luis' wedding in Nov. I thought ok that will give us a year to prepare. Then she said it was THIS Nov. I have known Sarah her whole life and I did not want to miss out on this opportunity, so I said YES! I told her we hadn't photographed a wedding yet and she still wanted us:) So I hope she is as pleased as we are with how GREAT these turned out!! Thank you so much to Sarah and Luis for letting us share in the MOST important day of their lives!

I was on Facebook earlier and noticed one of my friends Apryl Murphy, a fellow photographer too, had posted something she wanted everyone to read on her blog. So I went to it, read it, and cried! Then I was talking to Apryl on FB and she wanted me to repost it on my blog. I also talked to Courtney, who is also a part of this story, and she gave the okay for me to repost it too! So here it is! The beginning is just a good heartwarming story, the end can also be a heartwarming story too, if we do what we can to help!!

A Newborn's Conversation with God

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?" God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you." The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.." God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy." Again the small child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?" God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak." "And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?" God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray." "Who will protect me?" God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life." "But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore." God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you." At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name." God said, You will simply call her, " Mom."

If you are like me, you are probably already crying! If you aren't, you're about to! The rest is a true story about someone I know and some of you may know them too! Courtney's family took in a little boy because his mom was unable to care for him. she had a problem with drugs and he was just not getting what he deserved. they took him in and have raised him for several years. the mom had another baby like irresponsible and selfish women often do and another poor child was brought into this awful circumstance. well this is a little girl and as of a few days ago, she was removed from mother by dhr. she has to be placed into foster care. well since court's fam never legally adopted the lil boy, that meant him too... they are HIS family and to avoid losing him, they agreed to be her safe home while they wait to see what will happen. they are AMAZING AMAZING people with the biggest hearts i have ever heard of!!! that is unconditional love to 2 children that arent even theirs. they actually have 2 small grandchildren of their own!

well when they got the lil girl a few days ago, she came to them with nothing. one outfit on, one that was too small...thats it. no socks, shoes, underwear, nodda. so that is where i ask your help. please please help me help this family. she wears a size 2T and needs EVERYTHING... im sure she needs a few toys for christmas too but at this point, that is the least of her concerns...her brother (who has been with the family for awhile), has plenty of course because they have been taken care of, but with 2 new babies in the fam and now with the addition of her, may be feeling left out too so keep him in mind. he is 5 and loves what all 5 year old boys love : ) any little thing you can do to help would be so appreciated. even if its a $6 outfit from wal-mart or a pack of socks or some old clothes or toys that you have in storage!! just please remember that these kids did not ask to be brought into this situation and not all children have their mommy as their angels. sometimes other people (that are not even related) are the ones that are the angels to these kids : )

This is our last session from last weekend!! This is our 2 nieces, 2 nephews, and our oldest. This session was fun and very energetic! But what else do you expect with 3 almost 4 year old girls and 2 almost 2 year old boys! There were a lot of great pictures from this session, so we may have to do a second blog post later. Too many little cuties to narrow it down to just a few pics!:) I guess I am a little biased! We are officially caught up, until this weekend! (haha) 2 maternity sessions and our 1st WEDDING!! Enjoy!

Audrey Anna was happy sitting on the bed reading books the entire time and Elias was happy jumping on the bed! Audrey Anna is SO much easier to photograph then our 3 year old Addison! Elias is your typical almost 2 year old boy, ENERGETIC! She wanted to read to him, but he didn't want any part of that! He would rather climb a ladder or run around! Pajama Party...

So we decided to set up an old antique bed out in the middle of a field instead of going to an old church for our X-mas sessions. All I can say is WOW and I'm so glad we changed our minds!! These pics turned out AWESOME!! Meet Bailey and Brett. These are two of the most adorable girls ever and they were so easy to work with. I think it was because of the Alabama shirt haha. 2009 MCHS Homecoming...

I was asked a few weeks ago to Madison County High's homecoming. I had one mom that wanted pictures of her daughter cheer leading while the other mom wanted some of her daughter that was in the homecoming court. Since I really only specialize in natural light photography, I was a little apprehensive. But I thought this would give me some more experience using my flash. So I decided to go through with it. It was a great atmosphere at the game even tough my tigers came up a little short in the end. So here are a few i took.

I just wanted to share our baby girl's birthday invitation with everyone! I can't believe our little girl is about to be a year old! It seems like she should still be only a month old! Fun in Paint Rock...

I always love going somewhere new figuring out what looks good, gets my creative side going. :) Well it is not exactly new. My family has owned this land in Paint Rock forever but it was the first time I have been up there doing photos. That also reminds me, if anyone wants a country type setting for photos, this is the perfect place. Old barns, dirt roads, rolling hills, a nice stream, etc. Would make great pics for any occasion!!! Getting back to this family session, this is my brother Brian and his wife Raycheal along with their 2 adorable kids Anna Grace and Connor. Enjoy!!

Voila... here is Shannon, the stunning bride to be. (or was) haha We had way too much fun at her shoot. I had to wait to post these until after the wedding so the groom (Chris) wouldn't see her. When I start editing shoots like these, I just can't stop...even in the early morning hours =). These are a few of my favorites of this absolutely stunning bride! It was overcast that day so the light was so perfect...ahhh. Love it when that happens!

How I love this cute little girl. I have known Kennedy and her family for some time now. She is so sweet...and those to die for eyes - hello!! And of course, her mom is GORGEOUS! I was so happy to be able to photograph Kennedy and her family. I love being able to photograph such beautiful children. Just wait till I get to post her mom's sneak peeks from her bridal session. Those are amazing!!

Due to the overwhelming response, we have decided to open another day for our christmas session. Nov.7th filled up very quickly and we still had more requests. So we will also do x-mas sessions on Nov.14th (am). If you want a spot, give us a call or send us an email ASAP!!

I think it would be so cute to have a little girl dressed in something vintage and lying in the bed, jumping on the bed, playing w/ her baby dolls, & etc. And don't worry we will have plenty of things for the boys too. As you may have seen in some of our pics, i have an old John Deere toy tractor that was mine as a little boy. Don't miss out on this one!!!

If you ask me, any time is the perfect time for a photograph. Any age is the perfect age. There are so many different milestones to celebrate in our children’s lives, we don’t need to look hard to find an excuse for a photo. We had a wonderful adventure in the country at my parent's house. Jackson and Hunter had such a fun time!! And the little baby girl Allie was too cute!! Hey everyone! I just thought I would let everyone know that I have been shopping and rummaging through Michael's family's antiques and have found tons of things to use for different sessions! I recently bought some different fabrics for "wrap" pics and to use for various other things! Of course we had to see how it looked in pictures, so we did some test shots w/ me and my girls! I think they turned out beautiful! We also found a lot more things to use in our upcoming Fall session! I have a lot more ideas for both boys and girls! We are trying to put together a weekend for Fall pics! We have it tentatively scheduled for Oct. 17 (Sat.) starting at 9am & Oct. 18 (Sun.) starting at noon. Here's our plan, we are going to set up an antique iron bed in the field beside our house! I am going to get some shabby chic bedding for it! Also if you are a football fan, I think it would be so cute to dress them in your favorite teams attire! I am trying to come up w/ more ideas for the boys, so I will let you know about them soon! The Fall sessions will be $100 and that will include: up to 1 hour session, a mounted 11X14 (a $40 value), & all your proofs (a $150 value)!! This is the first time I have photographed this brother and sister team. We spent a very long time at and around the park just having fun. Beach Bums...

Warm sand between your toes, not having to worry about everyday life, and a “who-cares-what’s-for-dinner” attitude can mean only one thing – the beach!!! The lazy hazy days of summer are here! hooray! I would love to apply for the job of beach bum – no such luck. Capturing my family on the beach having fun is my alternative and I love it. I had a wonderful time taking tons of photos of all my family. It makes my job so much easier when you have such wonderful subjects to work with. Below are a few good ones.

Wow...I seriously had such a good time with this shoot. I remember being waist deep in the ocean, covered in sand thinking…these shots will be worth possibly soaking my gear in saltwater…so just keep shooting! We were in Gulf Shores on a family vacation and luckily for Corley her cousin is a photographer. Here are just a few of the great shots I was able to get of Corley and Shawn. Enjoy.

Letting kids be kids

What a great day! Shannon and I were at my mom's house for a family portrait session and it was amazing. The weather, the flowers, the energy. Everything was good. We began Friday morning with everyone. Addison, Ava, Bryleigh, Drake, Anna Grace and Connor to be exact. A lively bunch who gave us great energy for some great portraits. Sometimes we can try too hard to get kids to pose and put on their best “cheese” grins, but some of my favorite images are taken when they aren’t posing. It was fun, but I was ready to get back home later today to get this session edited. Below are a few!!

These pics are of our beautiful (but I guess I'm a little partial:) baby girl Ava. Ava is 8 months old and a blessing from above. When she was born she had some respiratory problems and had to be sent to Huntsville Hospital's NNICU. She was on a ventilator for 4 days and in the hospital for 9 days. She is the sweetest and happiest baby EVER!! We also have a beautiful 3 year old daughter named Addison, who you will get to see in pics too! She's just a little harder to photograph due to her hyperactivity!!:)
